Shine 879 – 3 Years on DAB

On February 28th Shine 879 celebrates 3 years on DAB.  From humble roots, Shine first broadcast to the capital as a pirate in the Summer of ’97, and remained on London’s airwaves for nearly 2 decades.  Shine can truly claim to be one of the most influential radio stations in recent history.

Relaunched as a legal licensed radio station in 2022, Shine began to broadcast its unique style across the county of Essex.   In Sept 2024, Shine took a big leap forward to bring its sound to the SouthEast of England and beyond.

3 years on and still going stronger than ever, we want to thank all of our team past and present, and most of of all YOU.  Without our amazing listeners we would not be able to do what we do.
