Mervyn Victor

Mervyn Victor started his DJing career back in 1983 under the name Jazzy M.  He has been a recognised name on the underground dance music scene for many years.

His radio career started in 1981 on Solar Radio, and since then has appeared on Centerforce(1989), DeJaVu(1995), Passion FM(2000), Deep London(2005), Centreforce DAB(2017) and now you can catch his show every Friday at 2pm right here on Shine 879 DAB

Out and about you would have heard Mervyn playing alongside the likes of Trevor Nelson, Karl Brown, Stafford, Kenrick, Bomb The Base and Ray Lofaro.  His residencies covered most of the must go to venues in East London including Labyrinth at 4 Aces in Hackney and the legendary Desire Parties.  He promoted parties at The End in London and was a resident at Legends Nightclub.

He was also instrumental as part of the acid house scene in the late 80’s and has played some of the best warehouse parties in British history.

Mervyn was also a producer and label owner with a Number 6 hit remix of Degrees Of Passion, as well as having success with other artists on the Red Rose Recordings label.  He was the head of A’n’R at Millennium Distribution, one of the UK’s biggest record distributors.
